234 Bethany
The last stop we made before returning to Jerusalem was at the town of Bethany. I took a picture of this little
Arab girl there. We also visited the traditional site of the tomb of Lazarus where Jesus raised him from the dead.
"43 And when He thus had spoken, He cried with a loud voice, Lazarus, come forth. 44 And he that was dead
came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith
unto them, Loose him, and let him go. 45 Then many of the Jews which came to Mary, and had
seen the things which Jesus did, believed on Him." (John 11:43-45)

We made one last stop at the Garden Tomb for an evening communion service. The next day we crossed the
Israeli border and arrived in Amman just in time to board our plane for America. I have traveled around the
United States and visited Canada and Mexico. I have never had a better or more spiritual trip than my visit
to Israel. I took this trip 23 years ago and still remember it distinctly (I just wish they had digital cameras
back then). I hope to be able to take my wife there some day. She will never have a more meaningful
experience than visiting the land where the Savior Jesus Christ walked on the earth.
